The park has a pretty setting but needs some work. Also needs to accept just shorter rigs in their reservation system. Sites are mostly horribly unlevel - like a dip to enter the site! Fortunately the park was not busy and we were able to change sites as the photos do not accurately depict the topography. The staff was helpful and courteous. The park was quiet. Nice location just a few miles off the interstate, but far enough away to not have traffic noise. Most sites are suitable for tents and very small campers. We wouldn't try to stay here again with our 36' fifth wheel until the park has been renovated including grading of sites.
I have camped there many times over the last 25 years. Always very happy with the facilities and fellow campers. I recently stopped to take a short walk across the dam and was surprised by the beautiful scenic view. The lake was completely still and reflected the foliage and sky in an amazing way.
This is a smaller state park but also a very scenic one. It does have a small beach, campground, hiking trails and picnic areas. It is also well maintained.
Nice staff. Drive could use some TLC.
Warm water in the showers.
Staff was the Best
Beautiful location with scenic lake views and trails. Went camping there for labor day weekend, it was pretty crowded, but the campsites were nice. We were definitely glad we ended up with the non electric site as they did have more space. The only reason I choose 4 stars vs 5 was due to the bathrooms...they were horrendous! At least the one by our site was. They are "vault" toilets, so they are non flushing, but they are not well cleaned at all (could have been worse due to the crowds though). I went in another restroom further away from our site and it wasnt as bad, so it could have been a fluke. We would definitely go back and try a time that would be less crowded. It is a great lake for boating, kayaking, and fishing. To see the park and to catch a glimpse of the lake view trail be sure to watch "Reising Up" on YouTube. We will be posting the vlog of our trip soon!
I've been spending family camping trips here for years. The camp activities and the weekend movies were always a favorite. Many of the camp sites are rather large and always meticulously clean. The bathrooms, although stinky are well maintained and the shower house is always clean. Wolf Run has the best beach and it is sparkly clean, even in the shallow water. Full of fish too! I love it here and my family still goes three or four times a summer.
Campsites are spacious mostly. Bathrooms are consistently foul. I can't understand building nice, new shower houses, and NOT upgrading to flush toilets. Not a campground for beach lovers.
The playground was nice, fairly quiet campground. We enjoyed our stay. Overall a positive stay.
As an aside, sites 1 and 2 were plauged by an insane Cardinal who attacked sideview mirrors on every car available for 4 days straight. Bird poop on every front door, A seriously surreal experience.
This is a beautiful place to recharge your batteries. Everyone is friendly. The facilities are well kept. The lake is tranquil, great for kayaking, swimming and fishing.
